A.H. Joseph Will Retire
Veteran Clothier Announces Sale Preparatory to Retiring from Business in Marion
A.H. Joseph is today announcing a sale which will start on Saturday and which is for the purpose of closing out his stock of clothing preparatory to retiring from business. Mr. Joseph came to this city from St. Louis twenty six years ago and opened up his store in the Warder block on the east side of the public square as soon as that building was completed. He received his stock before the building was ready and for a couple of months conducted his business in another location bur for more than a quarter of a century has been in business at the head of East Main Street.
Through handling high grade line of merchandise Mr. Joseph expanded his business so that he later added a basement room and then the adjoining room. Instead of the plain counters used in 1903, he now has a complete equipment of the finest and most up to date store fixtures.
Mr. Joseph has worked hard and prospered and he now plans to take a rest. His popularity with his competitors and with the other business men of Marion was evidenced by a page of congratulations run by them in the Marion Daily Republican on the occasion of his 25th anniversary last Christmas week.
Everyone will miss A.H. Joseph and will be sorry to see him out of active business but join in congratulating him on his past success. His detailed announcements will appear on Friday.
