An American flag, almost perfect as to detail, could be seen in the heavens Sunday evening from 6:03 until 6:13. Stripes of fleecy white clouds formed the stripes of white, the sky the field of blue and the sun tint provided the necessary. Stars were perfectly visible where they should have been. The view was visible to people in various parts of Saline County and the St. Louis papers today tell of the same vision in that city, so it appears to have been general. Lots of meaning in that view. It’s a warning to the Kaiser that even the heavens are with this country in the present crisis; it’s a warning to all slackers and to all traitors that ever the flag shall float and wave its freedom emblem in the heavens; it’s a word of cheer to the soldier boys to go onward to certain victory.
