The mother died last November and the father abandoned them two and a half months ago. They have been cared for by a great aunt, Mrs. J.F. Barnes of Carterville. Rosy Keaster, 47, died of tuberculosis Friday at the home of Joe Culbreath, 1211 North State. She was born at Crab Orchard in February 1872, the daughter of Jeff and Martha Keaster. Her only sister died and was buried last February. Burial in Davis Prairie Cemetery. MDR 5 Jul
Claude Elliott was found guilty of manslaughter which carries a sentence of one year to life. He was brought to court on a cot as he was still suffering from a hip wound received at the time of the tragedy. MDR 5 Jul

Langston Evans Williams died 6 Jul from the infirmities of old age. He was born 7 Sep 1845 in Scottsville, Kentucky, son of Mr. & Mrs. W.W. Williams, natives of Scottsville, Ky. He attended schools of that community and also attended and graduated in the collegiate course of Bowling Green, Ky. In early manhood he became a teacher in Allen County but later took up farming and devoted a number of the best years of his life as a minister preaching the tenets of the Free Baptist Church. He moved to Illinois 27 years ago and has resided in Williamson County the past 14 years. He married D.M.E. Walker on 24 Jan 1869. Survived by his wife, children: Mrs. J.C. Isaacs of Marion, Mrs. S.M. Woodall of Herrin, Mrs. W.R. Launus of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Scott & Bruce Williams of West Frankfort, Clarence Williams of Benton, Mrs. John Goddard of Marion, Mrs. S.G. They are both deaf and dumb and the ceremony was conducted thru an interpreter who could use sign language. Both are well educated, having received their training at a school for the deaf and dumb. Oliver Perdue Oglesby was born 11 Mar 1852 at Marion and died 25 Jun at his home in Cobden. He was the son of George Oglesby and Sarah (Pery) Oglesby, third in a family of nine children. He married Victoria Higgins 24 Oct 1883. Three children were born: Don who died in infancy, Lena who died by accidental drowning 5 Jul 1916 and Maude now at home. Also surviving are a Mrs. Ruth Narely of Carbondale and a brother, Frank of Dallas, Texas. He had lived in Cobden over 30 years. MDR 7 Jul

Earl Pillow Young is the name of the 9 1/2-pound son born to Mr. & Mrs. Amzi Young on Tuesday. This is their second child and second son. He is named after Corp. Earl Pillow who was a lifelong friend of the father. MDR Tuesday, 8 Jul
A small ad is running in the classified columns of the Republican which it is hoped will reach the eye of someone from this section who will leave in a few days for California. A person is needed to oversee the care of a bright and lovable 4-year-old boy on the long trip. The child is Robert Earl Cline, only child of the late Otto Cline, who died a few years ago in the west and is buried in Marion. The mother, Mrs. Ida Cline, was killed May 14 when she attempted to jump from an automobile. Since that time Robert Earl has been cared for by relatives. The grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. A.L. Cline who live on a fruit farm near Los Angeles, wish to give the boy a home with them. MDR 8 Jul

Mrs. Indian Wright died 9 Jun at her home at Creal Springs. She was born in Eddyville in 1847. Her maiden name was Jenkins. She was first married to Henry Morse and after his death which occurred over 50 years ago, she married James Wright who died 24 years ago. She had no children but has several stepchildren: Marion Wright of Creal Springs, George Wright of Salem, Robert Wright of Stonefort and Mrs. Sarah Caldwell of Creal. Nona Starrick, 20, daughter of A.J. Starrick of South Market Street and Jesse James, 19, son of W.J. James of Goreville, were married Wednesday. The couple have known each other practically all their life, having grown up together on neighboring farms in the Good Hope district near Goreville. The bride was helping the groom’s mother can fruit at the time of the marriage. The father of the bride is a salesman for Wadkins [Watkins] remedies and moved to Marion about a year ago. MDR 10 Jul

Dr. and Mrs. A.W. Springs received a message Saturday from Chicago that their aunt had been accidentally burned to death. Dr. Springs left Saturday night in his auto and Mrs. Springs left Sunday morning. CH 11 Jul
Claud Bell, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bell of Dewmaine, died Monday after suffering with cholera infantum a few days. CH 11 Jul
Rev. T.F. Lowery, formerly pastor of the First Baptist Church here, now of Metropolis, was married Monday in Marion to Miss True Hodge. They expect to make their home in Ewing. CH 11 Jul
Claude Elliott was found guilty of manslaughter of Joe Short. He was wounded by Short during the gunfight. The first shot went through his forearm and entered the breast above the heart, coming out the back. One shot broke his hip and another passed through the arm above the elbow. He had to be taken to court on a cot. He will never be able to walk without crutches. CH 11 Jul
B.F. Underwood, 58 of Carterville and Mrs. Rhoda C. Bedwell, 43, who resides on a farm south of this city, were married 4 Jul in Marion. This is the groom’s second marriage, his first wife having died a few years ago. MDR 7 Jul & CH 11 Jul
Richard Bennett was released on $5,000 bond to await the action of the grand jury as being responsible for the death of Charles Hart. He is accused of striking Hart on the head with a piece of gas pipe. Hart was taken to a hospital in Evansville, Ind., where he died three weeks later. MDR 11 Jul
Geo. D. Miller, public guardian, filed petition to be appointed guardian of Elenworth Parks and Reba Edna Parks, minor children of Ted Parks, now in military service, their mother being dead. The petition was granted. Anna Saroska filed a petition to have J.M. Jenkins appointed guardian of Petrovinca, John Eleanor and John Anna Sarosky. [as written] The petition was granted. Arthur Marks was shot Monday at his home in Frankfort Heights by C. Reedy, a boarder at the Marks home. It is said Reedy was paying attention to Marks’ wife and Marks objected. A quarrel ensued and Reedy was cut with a knife. He left and returned with a gun and shot Marks four times. Both men were taken to Union Hospital where Marks died Tuesday. MDR Saturday 12 Jul
John Franchi and his wife had trouble at their home in West Frankfort. When Franchi, who was a gambler, started to leave his home Saturday morning, he wanted to take a pistol with him. His wife objected and held the gun behind her. A scuffle for possession of the gun resulted in Franchi being wounded fatally. No arrests have been made, it being maintained the shooting was accidental. MDR 12 Jul
Dr. Martin Mangus McDonald died Saturday. He was born 22 Jan 1884 near New Denison, son of Mr. & Mrs. Elias McDonald. He married Irene Tate on 13 Jun 1874; four children were born, one survives: Mrs. L.L. Fowler of Marion. The wife preceded him to the grave in 1913. He served in the Thirty Ninth General Assembly in 1895 and 1896, was city and county physician and only resigned one month ago because of failing health. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery. The casket was borne by nephews: L.O. Caplinger, Clyde McDonald, Lloyd McDonald, James McDonald, Irvin McDonald and Harry Peebles. MDR 12 & 14 Jul

Mrs. Lola Greer died of tuberculosis Sunday at Freeman Spur. She had been sick four years. Survivors are her husband and a son 12 years old. MDR Monday, 14 Jul
Word has been received that Leroy Tandy, a young colored man who formerly lived in this city but moved to Indianapolis, Ind., in March, had killed his wife and himself. The letter telling of the tragedy was written by Mrs. H.R. Hawkins, mother of Mrs. Tandy. MDR 14 Jul

Death entered the home of Marcellus Perry, 105 East Mitchell, Tuesday and took to rest Louzana Reese, mother of Mrs. Perry. She was born 28 Jan 1836 in Williamson County and died 15 Jul 1919, daughter of Thomas and Frances Franklin Pulley, the father a native of Tennessee and the mother of Virginia. She married Thomas Reese in 1885 and nine children were born, one dying in infancy and eight still living: William Reese of Carbondale, Mrs. Della Perry of Marion, Jack Reese of Harrisburg, James, Thomas & Henry of this city, Mrs. Fannie Taylor of this city and Mrs. Alice Perry of Hudgens. Also surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Dora Anderson of Stonefort and Mrs. Anna Davis of Willeford. Her husband died 16 May 1918. Burial in Shiloh Cemetery. MDR Tuesday, 15 Jul
Mary Riggs died Monday at the State Hospital at Anna where she had been confined since May 26, 1919. She has several relatives in this part of the country but up to the time she was sent to the hospital, she lived with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Deering on North Court Street. Her relatives in this part of the country are: Nick Riggs who operates a grocery store near Halfway; George Peebles of Pittsburg, A.H. Davis of Elco and Steve Davis of Harco. Carbondale, July 16 — The aged oak tree whose rich, luxurious foliage shaded our great American, John A. Logan, many a leisure hour in the hero’s young and romantic days, was yesterday uprooted, crashing in practically one side of the home of Mrs. F.S. Phillips on West Oak Street. The house, of course, has been remodeled many times since the great General lived there. But the old oak is the same old oak which held within its bosom many legacies of history. Those when young Logan was studying and reading to be the world’s greatest volunteer soldier. The aged oak, sturdy and gorgeous foliage, is now receiving the fate of the ax. MDR 16 Jul
Lizzie Baker, wife of Dr. Alonzo T. Baker, died 18 Jul at her home in Herrin. She was born 27 Sep 1851 in Tennessee, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ely Day. Survived by her husband, daughter Bernice Baker of Springfield, and stepchildren: Dr. Griff Baker and Dr. Verge Baker of Marion, Mark Baker of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. J.W. Asbury of St. Petersburg, Florida and David Baker of Herrin. She has a sister living in Texas and a brother in Trenton, Illinois. MDR Friday, 18 Jul
Ben G. Cocke died Thursday in Pamona, California. He was about 70 years old and was born in Tennessee, moved to Williamson County in early boyhood and moved to Pamona 8 years ago. Survived by children: Mrs. W.T. Courtney of Marion; Mrs. H.H. Cooksey of Marion; Mrs. Frank Brooks of Scott, Kansas; Mrs. Parker Lichty of Waterloo, Iowa; Ezra and Ben Cocke Jr. of Pamona. William Thomas Hardin, an old soldier past 84 years of age, died Sunday at his home in Creal Springs. Survived by wife and children: Abel, Elliot and Mrs. John Hamlet; all live close by. Burial in Creal Springs Cemetery. MDR 21 Jul

Laura Hayter, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Hayter, 412 South Court, and Robert Robinson, son of Mr. & Mrs. N.C. Robinson, 901 East Boulevard, were married Monday in Fairfield. John Starling Norman died 20 Jul at his home at Crab Orchard. He was born 23 Dec 1839 on a farm near Crab Orchard, son of Marion & Martha Norman. He married Mary Ann Massey 15 Sep 1872 and 7 children were born, 5 preceding them to the better world. Daisy and Logan each died at 15 years if age; Nellie and Edgar each died in infancy and Alma died at the age of 32. Two daughters are living: Mrs. Mina Cox of Crab Orchard and Mrs. Iva Radford of Marion. Also surviving are the widow and brothers: Roy and Henry of Marion, Cero of St. Louis and James of Crab Orchard. James Brown, colored constable at Colp, has again been arrested and held for grand jury action for the hasty shooting and killing of persons he attempts to arrest. Maecellus Bridges, colored, is the latest victim of Brown and was killed Sunday night. Bridges entered the basement of the saloon building of Pleas Evans in Colp where a crap game was in session and boisterously threw himself across the game table, drew a gun and threatened to shoot. Mrs. Roxie Hawes, nee Roxie Harris, formerly of this city, later of Cairo where she became the sixteen years old wife of Ora Hawes, committed suicide in Cairo Friday by taking poison. She was keeping company with a Cairo youth at the time the militia, of which he was a member, was mustered into service in October 1917. He went to France and she became acquainted with Hawes and married last January. Upon the return of her former lover, she had regrets and love for him came back. He married last Friday and as soon as she heard of this she took poison, dying ten minutes later. She is survived by her husband, mother and several brothers and sisters. One sister is Mrs. Archie Artz, formerly of this city and now of Cairo. CH 25 Jul

Mrs. Rebecca A. Lewis died 19 Jul at her home in Carterville. She had been ill since last fall when she suffered an attack of influenza. She was born 7 Aug 1854 in Union County. Her husband died in 1904. Surviving are two sons, John & Thomas, both of this city and three daughters, Mrs. James Winning of West Frankfort, Mrs. Minnie Shepard of East St. Louis and Mrs. Ida Hardcastle of Herrin, and several brothers and sisters. Nancy Fridella Owens died Saturday at her home on the West Street hard roads, two miles west of Marion. She was born 12 Jun 1871 at the same place where she died, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William Brewer. She married Ambrose P. Owens in early life and seven children were born. He survives with the children: Howard, Maude, Edith, Marvin, Clifford, Raymond and Mary Elizabeth. A half brother, William Blankenship, lives in Arkansas. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. MDR 28 Jul

William Nichols, a farmer living one and a quarter mile west of Carterville, was instantly killed Wednesday near the farm of J.A. Jones, three miles east of Carbondale, when he fell from his seat at the front of a wagon load of wheat he was on his way to Carbondale to market. He was sitting on a rain coat over a sack of wheat and the wagon was going down the Jones hill near the county line. He was jolted off and the front and rear wheels passed over his head. James Jones was riding with him. Mr. Nichols was aged 72 years, 6 months and 18 days and had lived on his farm 25 years. He first married 14 Apr 1879 and nine children were born. His wife died 24 Jan 1906 and he married Miss S.J. Huffaker 31 Jan 1818 [as written], one child being born to them. Three children preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife and seven children. A daughter, Mrs. Margaret Adams lives in this city and another, Mrs. Archie Adams, lives at Fordville. Charles Bachman was born 16 Feb 1855 in Germany and died Friday at his home on the corner of South Duncan and West Cherry Streets. He was brought by his parents to the United States at the age of 2 years and had lived in Illinois ever since. He married Mary Charles in Montgomery County. Nine children were born, one dying in infancy. Survived by wife, children: Henry of New Baden; Otto living in Washington state; Mrs. Emma Cobler, Mrs. Mary Feurer, Mrs. Hilda Schellinger, Conrad, Charles and Walter all of Marion. Mary Ann Pentecost, wife of George Pentecost, died 21 Jul at home 223 South Missouri Avenue, aged 64 years, 10 months and 23 days. She was born 8 Sep 1854, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Stephen G. Chamness. She married James K. Mitchell 29 Sep 1896 [1869?] at the age of 15. Six children were born, 4 survive: Mrs. William Nelson of Crainville; Hendricks Mitchell of Elkville and Mrs. Leatha Chamness of Chamnesstown. A son, Lee Mitchell, left home at age 18 and has never been heard of since. One daughter died in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. Fannie Campbell, was killed in Omaha, Neb. in 1915. Her first husband died in 1873 and she married George Pentecost in 1903. He survives. Also surviving are her aged father, sisters & brothers: Sylvester Chamness of New Burnsides; Elvis Chamness of Chamnesstown; Albert Chamness of Cottage Home; Mrs. Albert Brown of Kansas: Mrs. Elijah Blankenship of Marion and Mrs. Geo. J.W. Pillow, former Marion merchant, died Friday in St. Louis. He was born 18 Oct 1851 in Petersburg, Va. and moved to Marion with his brother, J.M. Pillow in 1875. He was engaged in the grocery business until 1916 when he closed out the business and moved to St. Louis. He married Mrs. Myrtle McCown and two children were born, both dying in infancy. Survived by brothers: J.M. of Marion; George J. of St. Louis and Joseph B. & R.L. of Petersburg, Va. The body will be brought to Marion and burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Johnston City Progress — The first grave in the city cemetery was July 26, 1911 and 65 graves were dug the first year. There have been 76 graves dug during the past year. Daniel S. Henderson, 606 East Boulevard, died Wednesday after being struck on the left temple just above the ear with the barrel of a shotgun by Charley Randolph. Randolph had had agreed to work for Henderson and to receive a horse in payment. Randolph took the horse before payment was due. When Henderson went to get the horse, Randolph struck him. He walked away but died a few hours later. Henderson was a widower, born 12 Mar 1855 in Tyler County, West Virginia. He married Nancy M. Eagon 4 Apr 1879. James Osburn died as a result of a gunshot wound from a gun fired by Alonzo Gooden. The men and their wives went to Little Muddy Creek Sunday to hunt squirrels. While going around a tree, the gun of Gooden accidently discharged and blew off the arm of Osburn. He was rushed to Royalton and then to Herrin where his arm was amputated, but the loss of blood was too great and death resulted. Before dying, Osburn cleared his comrade of all guilt, stating it was purely accidental. He is survived by a wife and four children. MDR Tuesday, 12 Aug

Milton Afton Turner, 10-year-old daughter of F.C./Freeman Turner of Pontiac, died at the home of her uncle, Lasley Turner of near Dykersburg, where she and her grandmother had been visiting. Death resulted from an operation for an abscess. She died one day following the arrival of her father from Pontiac. She was the only daughter and her mother died exactly nine months ago Thursday. Mr. Turner formerly lived in Marion but moved to Pontiac about 8 years ago. She was of a very sweet disposition and the exact image of her mother. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. J.V. Thomas Wilkerson Garrison was born in Tennessee 22 Dec 1830 and died Sunday at the home of his son, D.M. Garrison, 1108 North Logan Street. He moved to Saline County when a boy. He married Sarah Ann Davis in White County in 1853. She died in 1857. He then married Sarah Jane Miller in 1858 and two children were born to them: A.M. & D.M. Garrison. His second wife died and he married Serina Boren in 1878 and Nancy Hendrickson in 1884. His last wife died 31 Mar 1908. Phillip N. Jones, 45, son-in-law of I.? J. Brandon, a farmer living south of Carterville, was killed 7 August near Arlington, Ky. while performing his duties as a locomotive engineer. He fell from the running board if the engine and the locomotive and nine cars passed over his body. He was a resident of Memphis, Tenn. He was born 4 Jul 1874 at Jordan, Ky. and moved to Jackson County when 12 years old. C.S. Aldrich, formerly of this city, died the latter part of last week at his home in Forest City, Ark. after an extended illness. He was a veterinarian and had practiced here until he moved to Arkansas 15 years ago. Survived by a widow. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. CH 22 Auq
Leveling a revolver at Mrs. Melvin Thaxton Saturday morning when she went to the county jail to give the prisoners their breakfast, Thomas Richardson, 34, who comes from Kentucky and was arrested in Johnston City for burglary, made a successful dash for liberty and is still at large. The man in some manner avoided being locked in a cell the night before and while enjoying free range all night in the corridor of the place, he tried to dig his way out through the brick wall at the center window, but could not finish the job before daylight. He possessed a revolver when he escaped. This is believed to have been given him during the night by an outside party. The wife of the sheriff, who was on a fishing trip at Reynoldsville, had been asked to serve the prisoners’ breakfast. There were 8 prisoners at the jail; four in the lower north cell room and four in the one above. There were Tom Richardson, Bennie Jarvis, Luke Waters and Clyde Watson. Floyd Stivers, 24-year-old son of City Marshal Al Stivers of this city, was accidentally electrocuted Saturday in Murphysboro while attending to his duties as lineman for Murphysboro Telephone Company. He was near the top of a pole and about to raise two wires off the ground when he received a shock from a 2300 volt current. Survivors are parents, a 9 months old child, brothers Elmer of Norfolk, Va., & Raymond of New London, Conn. Burial in Tower Grove Cemetery. CH 22 Auq

Bert Sims, a farmer living near Royalton, was crushed to death in a hay baler at work on his farm Monday. He fell into the hopper. HN 28 Auq
William South, residing at Oak Ridge a few miles east of here was brought to the hospital Sunday in a critical condition, suffering from hydrophobia. He was bitten by his dog about six weeks ago and was given medical attention and advised by his doctor to take a serum treatment, but as he was suffering no ill effects nothing was done. The latter part of the week he suddenly became ill and symptoms of hydrophobia developed from which he died Monday. He was about 45 years old and a miner at Jeffrey mine. He leaves a wife and family. Harry Jackson and Byron Brown are dead as a result of a shooting at Freeman Sunday. Will Collier/Colyer, Jackson’s brother-in-law, is in jail at Marion. Sunday evening young Collier, his father and Jackson had a little controversy near the European Hotel in Herrin. They were taken to jail and released after paying their fines. One hour later the shooting took place in Freeman in which Jackson was instantly killed, sixteen bullets being fired at him by Collier. Brown was struck by a flying bullet and lived only a short time. Brown, a cousin to Jackson, resided in Eldorado where he operated a garage and is survived by his wife and one child. Jackson came to this city recently from Rockport, Ky., where the body was taken for burial. He also leaves a wife and one child. HN 4 Sep & MDR 2 Sep

Captain Jacob Hayes died Sunday at his home in Stonefort. He was 80 years, 8 months and 1 day old. He settled in Illinois after the war and had been a lawyer at Stonefort since the town was founded, settling there about 35 years ago. His first wife, the mother of his children, died and he was married a second time, his widow surviving him. He is survived by three sons and one daughter, all living at a distance. He was born in Tennessee, but his parents moved to North Carolina where he lived in time of Civil War. He raised a company and served as Captain of Co F 7th North Carolina Ca. He always wore an old-fashioned bee gum hat and long tail coat. In his prime he was quite a successful lawyer, often vanquishing the city lawyers who looked upon him as a hay seed and as ignorant. He was associated many years with W.S. Morris, now of Golconda. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Burnsides. MDR 8 & 16 Sep

Roy Cash of Harrisburg, a former Marion man, died Saturday at Harrisburg from terrible burns he received in a gasoline explosion while preparing to come to Marion to attend the fair. On Thursday, he, Harris McCuchin, Jess Boatright and Ben Cundiff drove to the Hopkins-Zvari garage for gas. J.H. Hopkins served them and had just closed the nozzle on the underground tank after putting six gallons in the tank. Just as he took the nozzle out of the tank, McCuthin struck a match for a smoke. The other three received minor burns. Dr. Ezra Hart administered to Cash after which he was removed to his home. He was born 13 Jun 1884, the son James Cash who lives on West Cherry Street and a cousin of Elza Cash. He married Oma Feazel in 1902; she survives. His mother is dead. The Emma Jones Hospital is caring for a baby boy for the Creal Springs Orphanage. The baby was abandoned by its mother in Johnston City and turned over to the orphanage to care for. It was practically dead from lack of nutrition but an attempt is made to save its life now. The mother of the child went into a stranger’s home and left the baby on a bed and then disappeared. The Creal Springs Home and Mrs. Jones hope to save the child. MDR 13 Sep

David J. Miller died Saturday at his home near Absher Saturday. He was born in the western edge of Saline County, just north of Carrier Mills, on 2 Feb 1833 and lived near his birthplace until 1885 when he moved to Absher. He married Lucy Ozment who died 12 years ago. He was grandfather to 54 children, 38 of whom are living. He married second Mrs. Meely Miller, widow of his brother, in 1909. She survives. He was the father of 11 children, seven survive: Mr. Smiley (A.L.) Nannie Caroline Pulley died of cancer 17 Sep at the home of her brother, Dr. D.T. Owens near Scottsboro. She was born 8 Jul 1877, daughter of William L. & Martha Calvert Owens. She had resided in Chicago 12 years. She married Isaac Pulley 20 Dec 1894. He died in 1903. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Webb of Scottsboro, five brothers and one sister: D.T. Owens of Marion; T.F., W.S. & J.L. Owens of Pittsburg; N.S. Owens of Johnston City & Mrs. Cynthia Jane Goddard of Johnston City. The aged parents live near Pittsburg. Burial in Union Grove Cemetery. Sarah Margaret Uhles, widow of Richard Uhles, died Friday. She was born in Tennessee on 14 Mar 1828 and moved to Illinois when a young girl. For the past few years she had lived with her granddaughter, Mrs. May Whalen. Miss Jane Uhles, who died in 1917, was the last of three daughters to be called by death. Two sons, Mike Uhles of near Stonefort and Will Uhles of East St. Louis are expected to be here for the funeral. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery. MDR Saturday, 20 Sep
Laura Lynn, 20 and Frank Mattox, 20 were married Saturday at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Fred G. Campbell on West Main Street, where the bride had resided the past year and a half. Louisa Jane Erwin died 21 Sep at the family home two miles north of Crab Orchard. She was born 22 Oct/Nov 1835, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Mozely/Moseley. She married J.W. Erwin in March 1861. He has been deceased a number of years. She was the mother of nine children, two died in infancy. The other children were: George, Louisa, Johnny, Elmer, Laura, Minnie and Cora. These children survive: Elmer and Cora, wife of Sam Motsinger. A sister Mrs. Sarah Carmical/Hammond of Willow Springs/Houston, Mo also survives. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. MDR 22 & 24 Sep
