How the Marion City Recreation Board went from a $1.33 treasury and $250 in bills in 1944 to a more than $16,000 a year budget was outlined at the regular meeting of the Lions Wednesday by retiring recreation director, Cliff Storme. I made a visit to the home of Mary and Clarence De Mattei at 1304 W. Main Street on July 15, 2013. The De Mattei’s purchased the old Ed Stotlar home in 1991 after it had sit unoccupied for two or three decades and after about 10 years of renovation occupied it in 2001. Continue reading
