February 12, 1916: About eleven o’clock last night, Fire Chief Harry Cash was again summoned to the bank building to extinguish a blaze that had started among the ruins of the burned structure. The large two story frame structure known as the Elliott Hotel on West College near the C&EI yards was practically destroyed by fire on Friday night at about 9 o’clock, together with practically all of the contents.
