The old settlers met in Marion on Saturday, July 10, 1880 at 2 o’clock p.m. and organized a second time by appointing Dr. Bundy chairman and Dr. Lodge secretary. On motion of Rev. A.T. Benson and seconded by R.T. Pulley, it was resolved “That all persons a resident of Williamson County prior to 1860 and fifty years of age or older, be invited to meet each other at the Fair Grounds near Marion on Thursday, August 12, 1880 and have an old fashioned barbeque and talk over old times.” Continue reading
